Rotary Trommels, also known as rotary drum screens, are highly efficient mechanical screening machines used for separating materials by size through cylindrical rotating screens. These robust and versatile systems are widely utilized in industries such as mining, waste management, aggregate processing, fertilizer production, and biomass handling for size classification, screening, and material separation.
A rotary trommel consists of a cylindrical drum mounted at a slight incline and supported by a frame with motor-driven rollers. As the drum rotates, material is fed into one end and tumbles through the length of the screen. Finer particles fall through the screen openings, while oversized materials exit at the opposite end. The screen size, drum length, rotation speed, and inclination can all be tailored to the application.
